Oriental Medicine-OM is an entire system of healthcare which combines several ancient modalities: Chinese Herbs, Nutrition, and Asian bodywork, to bring each individual's unique system into balance.
Asian bodywork, commonly referred to in the West as Acupuncture, also includes Acupressure, Tui Na (Chinese massage), Moxibustion, Cupping, and a multitude of non-acupuncture techniques, Including Shonishin for children.
We use only sterilized, one-use needles and dispose of these after every use. The needles are very fine and relatively pain-free. Most people (and children even) find it very relaxing and forget about the needling while enjoying their treatment.
Each session your practitioner will implement a combination of OM modalities especially designed for you! She will determine where to focus by utilizing various methods of diagnosis for your healing. It is typical for her to take your pulse carefully, listen to your experience, look at your skin, tongue, hair and nails, as well as to palpate your abdomen and limbs or effected areas. By doing this she can see what is needed to bring you the best results most quickly.
As your sessions continue, you will start to learn what brings your own system into balance using the experience of your sessions as well as the awareness of how your lifestyle, nutrition and mindset all play a role in your health and balance.
